What You’ll See & Do
The tour will begin by jumping aboard our air-conditioned vehicle and heading towards the La Ramona area which is on the south coast of the Dominican Republic. On the scenic journey, you’ll pass small mountains, sugarcane fields, small farms, and more.
The tour’s first stop will be the museum of indigenous people. At this interesting museum, we’ll see displays depicting the timeline of when the local people were colonized by a foreign government and you’ll also learn more about the simple and beautiful island life.
Our next stop is one of our favorites, the Cigar Country by Vegafina. This is a local Dominican cigar producer and here we will take a tour of the factory with one of their expert guides. They’ll take you through the steps of how to build a quality cigar while also visiting the sorting rooms and ovens to the production floor and humidors. You may even find yourself behind the table rolling one yourself. Their product is of exceptional quality and is on sale at the end of the presentation.
The next part of our journey will bring us to the beautiful Barbate beach. This is a local beach, for locals. You are welcome to have lunch at one of the many delicious restaurants with lots of them featuring freshly cooked fish dishes, from ingredients straight out of the ocean. While you’re there you can take a swim in the stunning turquoise waters. There are also lots of small streets to explore as we do a walking tour of the town.
We will then call it a day and we’ll take you back to the door of your hotel.
